ReSound at Piccolo Hearing

ReSound released a new family, Sensia, in August 2026, so this is a brand with a lot of fresh inventory and a lot of recent trade-ins. Whether you are considering new ReSound aids or already own a pair, the first step at Piccolo is the same: a free hearing test at our Duluth or Houston clinic.

With your results in hand, our licensed hearing instrument specialists pick a family and level, program it to your audiogram at the fitting, and verify with real-ear measurement. Real-ear measurement is a probe-microphone check that confirms the aid is delivering the prescribed sound in your canal, not just on the software screen.

You then have a 45-day trial. Adjustments are part of it, and ongoing follow-up care is included with aids bought from us. Routine cleaning, domes, wax guards and small repairs are handled in the clinic. Factory repairs are sent to ReSound and tracked by us.

Already own ReSound aids from another provider, a warehouse club or an online seller? We can usually service and reprogram them. Some locked models and some very old devices cannot be programmed with current software, and we check that first.

We fit most major brands. Your recommendation comes from your test and your benefit, not from a quota.

About ReSound

ReSound is a Danish brand owned by GN, a company that also makes headsets and conferencing gear. That background shows: ReSound was early to Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast broadcast audio, and its current lineup is built around them. The ReSound Smart 3D app is the control app across families, and ReSound Relief is a separate app for tinnitus sound therapy.

Current ReSound families (October 2026)

Checked on ReSound’s US site and press releases this month.

  • ReSound Sensia. The newest premium family, launched in the US in August 2026. Styles include microRIE and RIE receiver-in-ear models (rechargeable, or using 312 and 13 batteries), plus custom in-the-ear styles: a non-wireless CIC, a wireless ITC, and rechargeable ITC and ITE. ReSound lists about 24 hours per charge on the rechargeable microRIE and custom styles.
  • ReSound Vivia. A small receiver-in-ear family in rechargeable and battery versions, with Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast. It uses the Smart 3D app and comes in a wide color range.
  • ReSound Savi. A mid-range family in miniRIE, ITC and CIC styles, rechargeable or battery, fitting mild to profound loss, also with LE Audio and Auracast.
  • ReSound Nexia. The previous flagship, still current, in Micro RIE, RIE, BTE and custom styles, with a CROS transmitter for single-sided loss.
  • ReSound Key. The entry-level family.
  • ReSound Enzo IA. A rechargeable Super Power behind-the-ear aid for severe to profound loss, listed at up to 28 hours per charge, with LE Audio and Auracast. The older ENZO Q is also still listed.

Who tends to do well with ReSound

People who stream a lot, whether phone calls, TV or music, tend to like ReSound because the connectivity is current and works across iPhone and newer Android phones. People with severe to profound loss have a modern rechargeable power option in Enzo IA, which not all manufacturers offer.

People with tinnitus may benefit from the built-in sound generator and the Relief app; see our tinnitus guide for what that can and cannot do. People who want a custom in-the-ear aid with rechargeable battery have that in Sensia.

Bring your phone to the fitting. LE Audio needs Bluetooth 5.3 or later on the phone side, and we would rather test it in the room than promise it.

The test decides, not the feature list.

Styles available

Receiver-in-ear (ReSound’s name for receiver-in-canal) in standard and micro sizes is the most common. Behind-the-ear with a tube or earhook covers power needs through Nexia and Enzo. Custom in-the-ear aids (CIC, ITC, ITE) are available in Sensia, Savi and Nexia and start with a 3D ear impression taken in our clinic.

Care and troubleshooting for ReSound aids

The ReSound Smart 3D app handles volume, programs, streaming and the Auracast assistant. If the app cannot find the aids, forget them in the phone’s Bluetooth settings, put the aids in the charger for ten seconds, then pair again through the app.

Rechargeable models go in the charger every night. Keep the charger ports free of lint and wax. A side that charges but dies early is usually an aging battery, which is a factory repair under warranty when applicable.

Domes and wax guards are consumables. We stock them at both clinics and will show you the change.

ReSound compared with other brands

ReSound is most often weighed against Phonak, Oticon and Starkey in our clinics. All four are capable. The real differences are in how each handles noise, how it fits your canal, and how it pairs with your phone, and the trial exists so you can hear those for yourself.

Cost is set by the family, the technology level and your plan’s contribution, and the newest family is rarely the only sensible choice. The hearing aid cost guide gives typical national ranges, and the insurance page explains the benefit check we do before any purchase. Book a free test in Duluth or Houston. Common questions

Can you reprogram ReSound aids I bought online or from another clinic?

Usually. We test your hearing, connect the aids in ReSound's fitting software, and refit them with real-ear measurement. Some locked devices and very old ReSound models cannot be opened in current software, and we will tell you that up front.

Do you repair ReSound hearing aids?

Yes. Cleaning, receiver and dome changes, wax guard swaps and minor repairs are done in the clinic. Case, moisture or rechargeable battery failures go to ReSound for factory repair, which we coordinate and track for you.

Does insurance cover ReSound?

Coverage varies by plan, and we verify your benefit before any purchase. We work with plan hearing networks including UnitedHealthcare Hearing, TruHearing, Nations Hearing, Amplifon Hearing Health Care and Start Hearing. Some networks include certain ReSound levels.

How long is the trial?

45 days at Piccolo, with adjustments included during that time. Ask us for the trial terms in writing.

What is Auracast, and do I need it?

Auracast is a Bluetooth broadcast standard. Venues that install it can send audio straight to compatible hearing aids. Current ReSound families support it through the Smart 3D app. It is a nice extra, not a reason to choose a brand on its own.

Can ReSound help with my tinnitus?

Current ReSound aids can run a sound generator, and ReSound offers the Relief app for tinnitus management. Hearing aids do not cure tinnitus, but many people find it less noticeable when their hearing is corrected. We evaluate tinnitus alongside the hearing test.
