Piccolo Hearing

Piccolo Hearing opened in Duluth in 2016, and the people who started it have been fitting hearing aids since the 1980s, first in Korea and then here in Gwinnett County. The clinic sits in the Super H Mart plaza on Pleasant Hill Road, a few minutes from I-85 and Gwinnett Place, which is why so many of our patients come from Suwanee, Lawrenceville, Johns Creek and Norcross as well as Duluth itself.

Every visit starts the same way: a free hearing test with a licensed hearing instrument specialist, explained in plain words, with your audiogram in your hand when you leave. If hearing aids would help, we check what your plan covers before you decide anything, fit the aids with real-ear measurement, and stay with you for adjustments afterward. We fit and service most major brands, so the recommendation comes from your test rather than from one manufacturer.

Our Duluth team works in English, Korean, Vietnamese and Chinese, in person. That matters more than it sounds: a hearing test depends on the words you are asked to repeat, and a fitting depends on the questions you are comfortable asking.

In your language

Hearing tests, fittings and follow-up visits in English, Korean (한국어), Vietnamese (Tiếng Việt) and Chinese (中文), with staff who speak the language rather than a phone interpreter.

Insurance and plan benefits

We are in-network with the plan hearing networks many Medicare Advantage and commercial plans use, including UnitedHealthcare Hearing, TruHearing, Nations Hearing, Amplifon Hearing Health Care and Start Hearing. Bring your card and we will confirm your hearing benefit before anything is ordered. Coverage varies by plan.

Questions about the Duluth clinic

Is the hearing test in Duluth really free?

Yes. The hearing test is free and is not billed to Medicare or to your plan. You can come in for a baseline test without buying anything.

Do you take my insurance?

We work with the plan hearing networks most plans use, including UnitedHealthcare Hearing, TruHearing, Nations Hearing, Amplifon and Start Hearing. Coverage varies by plan, so we check your specific benefit for free before you decide.

Can I be seen in Korean, Vietnamese or Chinese?

Yes. Our Duluth staff speak English, Korean, Vietnamese and Chinese in person. Tell us your preferred language when you book or call.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

Usually not. If your plan requires one for a hearing aid benefit, we will tell you and help you arrange it.

Which hearing aid brands do you fit in Duluth?

Most major brands, including Phonak, Oticon, Signia, Widex, Starkey, ReSound, Unitron and Bernafon. Your test results, lifestyle and budget decide which one we recommend.

I bought my hearing aids somewhere else. Can you help?

In most cases, yes. We clean, adjust and repair hearing aids from most major brands, and we can usually reprogram them. A few locked or very old models cannot be programmed, and we will tell you if that is the case.

Do you remove earwax in Duluth?

Not at this time. Earwax removal is offered at our Houston clinic. In Duluth, if we see wax during your hearing test we will let you know and point you to a doctor who can remove it.

How long is a first visit?

Plan on about an hour: around 30 minutes for the test itself and the rest for going over your results and your options.

Where do I park?

There is free parking right in front of the building in the Super H Mart plaza.
